New York - Meeting the Mural Kings of the Bronx

It all started after the Graffiti Tour in Harlem with James Top.  James Top is a self taught graffiti artist and was one of the founding members of the Odd Partners. TOP made history by dominating the IND & BMT subway lines during the mid to late 1970's. He took us around Harlem and mid town and showed us some amazing graffiti art.  He then introduced me to a local graffiti artist named Scratch.  Scratch wanted to show me the origins of graffiti art in New York so she took me to the Bronx and set up a meeting with the Tats Cru.

BG183 took me around the office, gave me a brief history of the bronx community centre and shared some painting tips. I also met prettytone163, Nicer and Bio, they were all such amazing talented guys.

If you're ever in New York, you have to purchase the "If these walls could talk" experience from Airbnb with James Top. It's worth it and really fun.

Indoor snow clouds!

So this is happening in Chicago right now.  This is 3d animation, CGI at it's best! It's so mesmerizing.

"Myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.......Adidas!!" - Run DMC

Did you know Adidas was around before Nike?  Well it was.  Run DMC made it huge in 1986 by releasing a song about the adidas sneaker.  I'm watching a documentary called Sneakerhead right now, and I'm so inspired by it.  I love designs in all forms. Check out this editorial ad for Adidas.  It's so clever!

Nike Swoosh $35

Wow I never thought of it like that.  Think of a logo as an empty vessel to carry the message...

The land of the dead

The land of the dead

Seems like this is all we care about these days.  Imagine the things we can achieve as a human race if we didn't care about who was noticing us all the time.  I'm not sure who this clever artist is but let me know if this is you so I can credit you.

Graphic Design is the language for living

This is a short insightful video on how graphic design fits into our world.  There's more to it than just pretty colours and images.  The best designers understand human behaviour and make people think about the message the artist is conveying.
